Reel Addiction III Sportfishing is a 62' luxury sportfisher operating out of Ko Olina Marina on Oahu's leeward coast. This isn't your typical charter boat - it's one of the largest and best-equipped sportfishing vessels available for hire in Hawaii.
These waters are known for Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Black Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Skipjack Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Shortbill Spearfish, Giant Trevally, Amberjack, and more – with any luck, you'll find out for yourself!
On the day of your trip, we start by catching fresh live opelu, then check conditions to locate where fish are holding. We troll on the way out to the grounds, then deploy live bait when we find the target species. Fly fishing and spearfishing available on request.
Young ones are welcome - we always have kids onboard and they have a blast. The "uncles" on deck make sure everyone has a great time, whether it's their first fish or their fiftieth. Bring your own snacks and drinks - but absolutely no bananas on the boat! (it's bad luck, ask any fisherman).
You'll step aboard a 62' Ocean Yachts sportfishing vessel with capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, (**hidden content** or you can ask the captain.
Guests keep up to 15 lbs of whole fish; trophy fish over 100 lbs stay with the boat for mounting or donation.

I’ve done over 80 charters in the past decade and Reel Addiction ranks in the top 5 both in terms of the Captain and crew and the results. Captain JR, dad and uncle work harder and longer than any team I have experienced and were great to work with start to finish. The results speak for themselves…. 3 Stripes marlin, 3 butter ball yellow fin and a Wahoo in the boat… lost an additional 2 tuna. I’m personally still on the hunt for a big blue and will be back with Reel Addiction when the season gets into high gear… My personal thanks to the captain and crew for making the trip a HUGE success and fun experience… Mahalo!!!
