I was posted to Masset with the Canadian Forces from 1992 to 1994, and fell in love with the area. I had been an avid fisherman and outdoors man all my life but it was my first real taste of salt water fishing for salmon, and needless to say I was hooked. As I introduced family and friends to the experience, I found that I really enjoyed taking people out and watching them experience what often was an event of a lifetime. I retired in 1995 and kept going back each year until 1997 when I purchased my first house to operate as a Vacation Home. I gradually added additional properties and a number of boats which I leased to owner/operators. For many years I would simply fill in when an operator was not available, but I found I looked forward more and more to chartering. Since 2014 I have been booking a limited number of charters each summer myself.
