Located in the Marina Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta, My Marlin Sportfishing Charters is a well-established company that has over 20 years’ experience in the charter fishing business. The area is well known worldwide for its huge Yellowfin Tuna and Marlin fishing, and if you are hoping to catch a big fish to remember, My Marlin Sportfishing will do everything they can and more to make your trip with them one to remember.
The My Marlin is a 31 ft Bertram, one of the world’s most renowned sportfishing vessels. Recently restored, it features a whole range of navigational and safety electronics, and it is fitted with dual Cummins engines to propel it quickly towards some of the best fishing spots in the ocean. Not only is this boat great for fishing, it is also a comfortable boat for relaxing, and features a full head, kitchen, bed, and multimedia system to keep you entertained throughout your trip.
Top of the range equipment is used aboard the boat, with Tiburon reels and Calstar rods provided, as well as premium sportfishing lures by Black Bart, fluorocarbon hooks, and fresh line. With My Marlin Sportfishing Charters, there is no worry that you will be let down by faulty gear while reeling in a big one.
Puerto Vallarta boasts a year-round fishery, but the charter advises you fish from July through November if you are hoping to hook a big Blue or Black Marlin, while December through May is the best time to battle the smaller, but even more spirited, Striped Marlin. The captain and crew also specialize in catching huge Yellowfin Tuna, which is closest to shore in September and October. During the rest of the year, it is recommended that you take an overnight charter to target this spectacular game fish.
All the gear you will need for a fishing trip to remember is included in the price of the trip, and the crew will also happily clean and fillet your catch after the trip free of charge. Simply bring snacks and drinks and get ready for a trip to remember.

We booked a trip with my marlin but my marlin had some mechanical issues so we we’re pawned off to another boat “Up grade” not really an up grade just a little bigger boat. We got one marlin, so they did get us into fish but then we went for jacks for fun and they (the captain and mate) had a competition on who could hook the first fish, then hand the rod off to me. This went on for about four or five fish. We were there to fish not real in the captains and mates fish! They never even acknowledged my wife was on the boat, when she is just as big a fisherman as me. Let’s just say it was disappointing enough that we ended our trip an hour early. I would not use any of these charters connected to or part of my marlin.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Due to mechanical issues we did upgrade you to a bigger and more expensive boat with a crew that know how to catch fish for the same price. I’m glad you guys caught a Striped Marlin and a lot of Jack Crevalle I attached the photo of your Marlin. Most clients do not want to hook there own fish but are always welcome to try if requested. We will make sure that the crews are more interactive and communicate this better in the future. Thanks again for your feedback.Joshua Stewart does not recommend My Marlin Sportfishing

Steve and his mate Scooby were fun and very knowledgeable. We had a hick up with one of the engines not working but Steve tried all he could to fix it at sea. Got us on multiple sailfish and mahi mahi.
Would definitely use him again next time I’m in PV!!!
Also Damien in customer service was superb!!

Captain Steve Torres operates one, if not the best, fish catching operation in Puerto Vallarta. Personally, I’ve made the decision not to fish with anyone else in PV, because of his boat handling skills, quality of the lures and equipment, and the state of repair the boat and gear were in—flawless!
One thing that most people don’t think when choosing a captain is how a captain handles the boat, once a big fish is caught—he is a tournament winning professional that understands how to get the fish to the boat—he uses the boat to keep the line tight and to work against the fish—he also understands that EVERTHING matters from the day BEFORE you hook up! So, he ensures everything is tournament ready, the day before you fish.
There’s just no better, big fish catching captain in PV.
