High Octane Fishing provides inshore, scalloping, and nearshore charters throughout the Crystal River area of Florida, with meeting locations offered in Crystal River, Yankeetown, Barge Canal, Cedar Key and Waccasassa. Your guide, Captain Nick Warrington, is USCG licensed and insured, and has years of experience on these waters.

He runs a custom 23’ KenCraft 238 bay boat, which is powered by a quiet 150HP Yamaha outboard motor, and is equipped with Garmin navigational equipment and Standard Horizon VHF radio. The vessel has a wide and open deck, which offers plenty of space and a stable fishing platform for up to six anglers, and provides both a smooth and dry ride while still having the ability to float in 12” of water. If you need to cool off from the hot sun simply unfold the large Bimini top that covers most of the boat, a feature that is especially useful during Scallop season. There is a dive ladder to get in and out of the water with ease, while the boat also comes equipped with an 8’ Power Pole Blade anchor, Minn Kota trolling motor, jack plate, and trim tabs to help it navigate through varying waters. To add to your fishing experience, the boat features a custom built tower that is great for spotting fish, allowing you to cast where the action is.

High Octane Fishing specializes in light tackle fishing with 7’ spinning outfits, bottom fishing, drift fishing, trolling, among others, and offers half and full day scalloping and fishing trips where you can target Scallops, Redfish, Sheepshead, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Grouper, Snapper, Spotted Seatrout, Black Seabass, Black Drum, Cobia, Tripletail, Flounder, and more. Trips include fuel, fishing licenses, masks, fins, snorkels, scallop collection bags, quality rods & reels, artificial baits (live when necessary), ice & cooler, bottled water, and coast guard approved safety gear. Please let Capt. Nick know if you wish to bring your own fishing gear, so that he can make room on the boat.

October 10, 2016

Spent the morning trout fishing throwing topwater plugs and suspending lures. Lots of slot fish now and will only get better as the weather cools off. Read Full Report →
