Sea-iesta - 54’ Bertram
Sea-iesta is a 54’ Bertram Sportfisherman takes 12 persons ,max, approved by ‘Scheepvaart Inspectie’.
Regardless of if you’re a veteran offshore angler or are organizing you first big game trip, Mahi Mahi Charters are committed to providing you with an enjoyable and memorable boating and fishing adventure in Aruba.
The boat departs from the Seaport Marina. Sea-iesta’s dock is so close to the drop-off, the crew can start putting out lures in only a few minutes time. For anglers arriving via cruise ship, do note that the vessel is docked near the cruise ship terminal.
Mahi Mahi Charters are operated by experienced and knowledgeable captains - Peter, Rudolf and Roy are all deep sea veterans, with years of experience and expertise when it comes to fishing the big game pelagics of Aruba. Among others, these waters are abundant with Sailfish and Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, Bonito, King Mackerel, Jacks and many others, depending on the time of year.
If you’d like to cook and eat your daily catch, Seaiesta recommends taking it to one of the nearby restaurants like ‘Que Pasa’, where the chef will be more than happy to prepare your catch for you. On Full Day trips, sandwiches are also provided on board.
Generally speaking, the catch is divided by the crew and guests. Although the ratio is flexible, the usual agreement is that 10-30% of the daily catch is kept by the charterer, and the balance is divided between the crew.

I contacted the captain as fishing booker suggested in their email 5 days before we were scheduled to fish. The captain calls me at 5 am EST and tells me he cannot hold the trip unless he has a credit card even though I explained I would pay him in person and I had already placed a deposit. I found out after we boarded the boat that he has charged my credit card the full price plus the additional deposit fishing booker had already charged me. I got a receipt for the cash payment I gave him since he said he had refunded my credit card already, So here it is 2 weeks later and he still has not refunded my card and keeps saying he is about to do it, and gives me an amount that is $200 less than what he charged. So now I have to try and stop payment and get the money back.
That is the biggest problem, the minor problem is that I felt like there was no desire to catch fish, they have no fish finders on the boat, the electronics are very outdated. they never changed the bait or tried moving around, they kept circling around the same area for 3 hours until I finally said just take us back in. This boat is a fraud, they should never be allowed to charter fishing trips. The total catch was 3 fish that weighed about 2 lbs each. We have fished as a family in each of the last few years when we visit an island and this was by far the worse. We have not always caught fish but we have always had a pleasant experience with the captain and the mate. The highlight of the trip was when they circled closer to the oil rigs and we got a closer look. We had a great Aruba experience but the day aboard the Sea-iesta was and still is very upsetting. Please save yourself from these headaches and stay away from this boat. I am just hoping be able to get the $710 that is owed to us.

Little rocky off of Aruba but we caught some fish and the boys enjoyed the catch (in between getting a little sick overboard). The first mate was a lot of fun and made it very enjoyable. I’d schedule again!!
