Fishing Trips on Time Bandit

Kalk Bay
Cape Town WC, South Africa

Bandit Marine Services offers fishing trips on Time Bandit, a classic West Coast deck boat, which has been fully restored to be better than the original. This 28 footer is an open deck boat with a wheelhouse forehead and an inboard diesel motor.

Experience fishing from a bygone era, using traditional hand line or rod and reel if you prefer. Bookings are done on a first come first serve basis, when the next trip is available, with consideration to prevailing weather conditions, which you will be informed of in advance. No need to worry if you are only 2 or 3 persons as we make up a trip from other bookings, of single anglers.

You also need to specify your target species so that we may accommodate you.
Ladies and Children are also welcome.

Hand line rigs are available and bait is supplied and included in the trip. Some rod rigs are available: you need to specify your requirements as a hire charge is required.

Mostly trips start out at 06h00, returning at 14h00. However, times can be arranged to suit individual preferences.

Bandit Marine Services run a variety of trips, which are priced according to the distance travelled and the species targeted.

Trips inside the bay are R350 (roughly $23) per person (max 8 persons). These trips target reef fish and fish like Snoek or Yellow Tail inside the bay. Also Squid, which are mostly caught at Buffels bay, near Cape Point.

Trips outside the bay are R550 (roughly $36) per person (max 6 persons). These trips target reef fish, Snoek, or Yellow Tail outside the bay. These fish may be caught up to 6 to 10 miles of the coast.

Trips to target Tuna are R1150 (roughly $90)  per person (max 6 persons). These trips target Longfin Tuna and Yellowfin Tuna, Yellow Tail and Snoek up to 20 nautical miles offshore of Cape point.

An angling permit is required by each person, which is obtainable at any post office in Cape Town.

All trips are weather permitting only, may be cancelled at the Skippers discretion or postponed.

Been fishing since I can remember. Live by and worked on the sea all my life.Always been fascinated by fish and fishing This is my first deck boat, which I revamped to better than original. It took about 18 months. The boat was launched in January this year in Simonstown. I never take chances, and am a compulsive checker. I only proceed to sea in good weather so that my clients always have maximum effect of their experience. Safety is always first on my list and the Time Bandit is well equipped. My favorite specie to catch is the seasonal snoek and yellow tail. these fish put up a good fight and really test the angler skills.
