Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Lesser Amberjack, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Blacktip Shark, Cubera Snapper, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, and more can be found in these waters, depending on conditions. During the trip you might be fishing with heavy tackle, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!

Your boat for the day is a 60' Hatteras sportfishing vessel with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.

You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
