Le Performant 2

Grand Baie, Mauritius

Captain Nimalen is the owner of Le Performant Sport Fishing and the operator of 4 boats in the fleet. He was raised in a fisherman family (being a 3rd-generation fisherman himself), with his father also a well-known angler in Cap-Malheureux. Nimalen has loved fishing since childhood and is now even a holder of several fishing records with his fleet of boats.

Le Performant 2 is a large, new 55 feet vessel that is powered by twin 575 HP Caterpillar engines. Step aboard and enjoy assets such as a private bathroom, six beds, and a kitchen with a refrigerator & microwave, along with a salon which can accommodate up to 12 people.

The boat is fully equipped for fishing, with 11 Shimano Tiagra reels (3x130lbs, 4x 80lbs, 4x50lbs), a total of 3 fighting chairs, and a variety of lures for all types of fishing. Essential up to date safety and navigational technology is also fitted on board, such as first aid kits, a life raft, life jackets, two life buoys, and a GPS, Chartplotter Fish Finder, VHF radio, satellite phone, and a mobile phone.

The Le Performant crew invites you to join them as they journey to the most attractive locations on the Mauritian northern coast. Game fish in excess of 1,000lbs have been caught in these waters, but there are plenty of standard-sized and smaller fish for amateur anglers, families, and tourists just looking for a memorable fishing trip. You’ll have the opportunity to fish for Blue and Black Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado, Wahoo, Bonito, Shark and much more, depending on the season.

Capt. Nimalen welcomes everyone that wants to visit Mauritius and enjoy a day of fishing aboard Le Performant along the way. The crew is highly experienced in all types of fishing practiced in these waters, including big game fishing, bottom fishing, popping and jigging, as well as light tackle fishing.

Member since May 2014
Born into a fisherman family with over 50 years of experience, Nimalen used to accompany his father, a fisherman, as he went fishing in a wooden canoe. After years of being hard at work, they purchased their first engine boat in 1984. It went off from there and in 2000, Nimalen started his own big game fishing business. After catering to a variety of satisfied clients, he was able to buy his first boat - Le Performant 1. Demand kept rising, and along came Le Performant 2, 3 and 4!

We recommend that all tourist take note that LE PERFORMANT are the ruest peope we had to incounter in Mauritius. Not only we have to pay for fishing trip but they also refused to give use the fish we caught.  This we call theft in South Africa. They lady who was there to meet use was so rude and disrespectfull. When insisting that they give use the fish the Le performant operator (lady) repleid and said we can BUY the fish back!!

We reported this company to the Maurition tourist board’, and wrote reports on their facebook and our local tourist website warning people to not make use of them.

They give Mauritians a bad nme and we will make sure that ll South African touist are well informed about their terrible service and disrespect towards tourist.

DO NOT MAKE USE OF THEM…....

Hello Jan, thank you for your review. We are no theft, and you can try to put our company to shame, but we are professionals and we try our best to inform our clients as much as we can. Whether it is on Fishing booker under the policies section, or on our blog http://www.leperformant.com/blog we clearly define that Crew keeps catch.

We are sorry if you missed that piece of information which led to a bad experience both for you and us. Anglers from all over the world trust our company for fishing in Mauritius year in year out. We do our best to please each and every person who step on one of our boats. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case with you, and we would like to hear from you on how we can improve, maybe on the communication level with our clients.

Thank you
