The most enjoyable day’s boat fishing I have ever experienced in 42 years of sea angling both in the UK and abroad. This is serious angling made possible for families and the less experienced. We were a party of one adult and five children aged 7 to 15 with varying levels of skill. Pedro and his skipper worked hard throughout the day to find the fish and explain the techniques, coaching children, sorting tangles, landing and unhooking fish. They were both extremely polite and friendly, the boat and tackle were clean and fit for purpose, the bait was fresh and plentiful. We started off several km to the west of Cabo Espichel, fishing for gilt heads along side commercial boats in 60m depth. As the conditions were rather too challenging with swell and strong tide, we soon retired to a more sheltered mark off the cliffs near Sesimbra. The fishing here was very good with a constant supply of black and white bream to 1.5lbs, plus triggers to 3lbs, lots of bogue and the odd red snapper. Nothing huge was caught but the average size was good and within three hours we had enough eating fish to provide a family of 7 with 3 bbqs in a row. At this stage I called a halt to the trip to avoid killing or damaging anything else. We then chatted for a while in the sun and amazing scenery and Pedro pointed out some sites of interest and discussed local history and the Arrabida national park. He is obviously deeply committed to the environment and ethical fishing practice.

In short, this company have very high standards and I can’t recommend them enough.

We were a group of 2 men and 3 boys as a treat for my son’s birthday. Pedro could not have done more to make it a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting experience. His knowledge of the local seas was absolutely spot on. He rightly judged(to the minute) that high afternoon winds made going after game fish a bad idea with 3 young boys on the boat. We had a great day’s fishing nonetheless and five exhausted but very happy people were dropped off in the marina in the late afternoon. I’ll definitely be back.
