K2 Fishing Charters is owned and operated by Captain Gabriel “Gabe” Kovacs, an experienced local captain with over 43 years of fishing experience. Located right by the Venice Inlet, he’s ready to take you fishing offshore in the bountiful Gulf of Mexico.
Your fishing trip will take place aboard a stable and sturdy SeaCraft boat that features a T-Top and a toilet in the center console for the comfort of everyone on board. There’s plenty of space on the boat for up to six people to fish, and it’s fitted with top of the range electronics by Furuno and Garmin to pinpoint the very best fishing spots for conditions on the day of your trip.
K2 Charters specializes in bottom fishing for species such as Snapper and Grouper, but they are also happy to do trolling and kite fishing on your charter. They catch a wide range of species, including Kingfish, Red Snapper, Triggerfish, Cobia, and more.
During summer, you can come aboard for Florida’s legendary Tarpon fishing. Capt. Gabe uses his own specialized technique and presentation to lure in the mighty silver kings while fishing off the shoreline and around the structures leading to the inland waterways. These spectacular and showy game fish are an absolute “bucket list” catch for anyone fishing in Florida between May and August (and sometimes later).
All the equipment and fishing licenses you will need for your trip are furnished by K2 Fishing Charters, and Captain Gabe will also be glad to clean and fillet your catch once you return to the dock. Both light and heavy tackle are carried on board to make sure you have the right tools for whatever the day’s fishing throws at you.
Children are more than welcome aboard this charter, though there is a minimum age policy - children must be over 8 years old. Anglers of all skill levels are encouraged to hop on onboard! Captain Gabe is an expert in both teaching new anglers the basics as well as assisting true sportfishermen in netting that trophy catch!
