Enjoy a day on the water with USCG Licensed Capt. James Brown and Set Da Hook Fishing, fishing the waters of the St. Johns River. Explore the creeks and flats, finding Redfish and Speckled Trout, as well as other species.

You will be fishing aboard a custom built Salt Marsh skiff called the “Low Country” that was designed by the captain a couple of years ago with charter fishing in mind. This sturdy and stable boat has a wide beam, with plenty of room for two anglers to fish from the front deck at once. Best of all, the boat will float in just 6 inches of water even when loaded with two anglers and full gear, and it can run in 12 inches of water to reach the shallow areas where the fish are. The Low Country is fully equipped with a 40 HP motor that allows her to run shallow and fast, and she features a livewell cooler to keep your catch fresh, and there is also a live bait tank on board for your bait. Top of the line electronics are also fitted on board.

This provides the perfect base from which to explore the vast fishery of the St Johns River and its surroundings. It is impossible to experience everything these waters have to offer in just one day, so come along, enjoy your day with Set Da Hook Fishing, and get ready to want to come back for more!

I have been fishing since I was 8 yrs old, when I used to fish the waters of Chesapeake Bay every weekend with my father. I have been fishing St. John's River for 10 years now: I moved to Jacksonville in 2006 after serving in the Marine Corps, and got into kayak fishing, which I took up for relaxation and therapy after overcoming the battle with leukemia. I started a kayak fishing business in 2013 before graduating to boats and becoming a USCG licensed captain. I love fishing and taking others out to enjoy the water.

Had a great trip with Captain James. Slow day of fishing all around, but he was running and gunning all over the place to make sure we caught what we came for. Great guy, great boat!
