Queenscliff Fishing Charters specialise in Flathead and Gummy Shark trips, in the beautiful waters of Queenscliff, Victoria. They are quite the experts in catching bay species and will provide excellent assistance on all their trips. You will have a friendly and experienced skipper and deckhand on board to guide you to the fish, show you how to cast for it and how to reel it in.
You will fish aboard their 32-foot Gilcraft commercial boat, originally built in 1972, and restored in 2016. This beauty is regularly maintained to keep it up to date with the latest electronics and to make sure it is comfortable for its guests. The boat is powered by a 130 HP Perkins 6354 engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 8 knots.
You will sail the Port Phillip Bay, and change locations from Point Nepean, Portsea, Quarantine Bay, Queenscliff, Swan Bay and St Leonards depending on the weather conditions and where the fish have been reported to be biting.
The area of Port Phillip Bay has seen Calamari fishing growing in popularity, and of course trolling for busting schools of Salmon is a favourite all round. You can also catch a huge variety of species such as Leatherjacket, Flathead, Gummy Sharks, Snapper, Wrasse, Trevally, Rockfish, Gurnard, King George Whiting, Garfish and many more.
Your comfort is their priority, and they try to fish in productive yet comfortable conditions on each trip. They will provide all the fishing gear needed, as well as clean and fillet your catch once your trip is over so you can enjoy it when you get home.
Queenscliff Fishing Charters are always happy to give angling tips and have plenty of pointers on how to cook and enjoy your catch. They welcome families and large groups, or just single anglers, and a minimum of 7 people is required to head out.
