One More Cast Charters is run by Captain Rodney, who has been fishing the local waters for as long as he can remember. An avid marine technician, Rodney has been working on boats and yachts for over 30 years. He is dedicated to showing his guests a fun and satisfying time on the water by putting them on the fish and teaching them different fishing techniques, fish species and about boats in general. Captain Rodney’s main goal is for every guest who comes aboard his boat to forget about the daily chores of life and enjoy a few hours of bliss on the water.

Captain Rodney operates a 22 foot Pathfinder center console boat, which was built in 2001 and can fit 3 persons. It is powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine with a maximum cruising speed of 45 knots. This boat is excellent for fishing the Galveston Bay area, as it can navigate easily in the shallow waters using its wireless trolling motor. The boat also has a GPS system, a fishfinder to locate the schools of fish, and a live bait tank. It is equipped with all the safety features including life jackets, flares, a VHF radio, EPIRB, fire extinguishers, first-aid equipment and a CPR trained crew.

One More Cast Charters specializes in targeting Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and other species which can be found in the Galveston Bay Complex. Captain Rodney will provide you with necessary equipment such as rods, reels, tackle, and artificial lures. He will also have bottled water aboard for refreshment, and be happy to clean and fillet your fish when you return to the shore. You will need to obtain your own Fishing License for the State of Texas.

Please note, if you are taking a child on the fishing trip, please make sure you bring a Children’s Life Jacket to fit your child.

About the Captain

I grew up fishing the Texas coast and Gulf of Mexico with my father. I attended a Tech school and became a mechanic and got into working on yachts. From there I learned all aspects of boats and started to specialize in marine electronics. I became a captain and started running a 43 Cabo and then a 54 Viking and fished primarily for Blue Marlin. I fished Marlin tournaments from Venice, Louisiana to Port Aransas, Texas. I decided to scale back and start inshore fishing again. (Although I still run the 43 Cabo from time to time.) I bought a Pathfinder 2200 and decided to start sharing my fishing experience with others.
