Hotshot Charters – Gold Coast
Hotshot Charters invites you to try Queensland’s world-famous fishing for yourself. With a local crew, top of the range vessel, and track record of catching record-breaking fish, this Gold Coast fishing charter leaves nothing to be desired. Fishing their home waters from December through August, the dedicated crew can also be found chasing giant Black Marlin in Cairns from September to December.
The "Hotshot" is a 43’ O’Brien offshore sportfishing vessel, famous for its dry and stable ride. This comfortable vessel is fully stocked with top brand equipment. You’ll be treated to Simrad and Furuno electronics to put you on the fish, and will be aided in your fishing quest by outriggers, downriggers, and a Reelax fighting chair.
Whatever trip you decide on, you’ll be hunting for one of the ocean’s most prized creatures – Blue Marlin. You’ll troll lures and try baiting and switching to attract their bite, and the experienced crew promises a helping hand whenever they can. As well as these monsters, you can expect to hook other Billfish, including Black and Striped Marlin and Short-Billed Spearfish.
If you’re after some light tackle action, visit from December to March to hook Black Marlin and Sailfish. With a bycatch of Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and Spanish Mackerel, this is a game fishing extravaganza you don’t want to miss!
Not only are you sure to get your hands on some prized fish, you’ll also head out to some of the most remote and stunning Gold Coast fishing spots. Hit up Lady Musgrave and Fraser Islands and go after the same species, but really getting the most out of everything the area has to offer.
Your crew are members of the Billfish Foundation, and they tag and release all Marlin unless chasing world records. They have won the Billfish foundation’s “Top-tagging Captain” award for Black Marlin, and have won the “Top-tagging Angler” award 2 years in a row for this species, too. Come aboard Hotshot Charters and fish with the best!
