Hotshot Charters - Gold Coast
Hotshot Charters invites you to try Queensland’s world famous fishing for yourself. With a local crew, a top of the range vessel, and a track record of catching record-breaking fish, this Gold Coast fishing charter leaves nothing to be desired. Fishing their home waters from December through August, the dedicated crew can also be found chasing giant Black Marlin from Cairns from September to December.
Hotshot is a semi-custom 43’ O’Brien that is family owned and operated. O’Brien boats are famous for their dry and stable ride. This comfortable vessel is fully stocked with top brand equipment. On board, as well as being treated with Simrad and Furuno electronics to put you on the fish, you will be aided and abetted in your game fishing quest by Lee’s outriggers and a Reelax fighting chair.
The crew offers two types of fishing trip: two single day charters and multi-day fishing adventures. Both will take you heading offshore in search of Blue Marlin, which you will target both by trolling lures and by using bait and switch—one of the best-proven methods for catching a quality fish, and a technique the crew is very experienced in. As well as Blue Marlin, you could hook other Billfish, including Black and Striped Marlin and Short Billed Spearfish.
If you are after light tackle fishing, there is excellent fishing for Black Marlin and Sailfish from December to March. And with a bycatch of Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and Spanish Mackerel, this is a game fishing extravaganza you shouldn’t miss.
On multi-day trips, you will head out to some of the most remote and productive Gold Coast fishing spots, such as Lady Musgrave Island and Fraser Island. Here, you will be targeting the same species but will have time to really get the most out of everything the area has to offer.
The crew of Hotshot Charters are members of the Billfish Foundation and they tag and release all Marlin unless chasing world records.
Please note that the crew doesn’t do bottom fishing.
