Twisted Limbs Bowfishing Charter will take you on a night time adventure of a lifetime in the fresh or saltwater of Florida. Their excursions will see you targeting some of the most delicious fish species available in the area, and you will leave with a hunger for a new bowfishing adventure real soon. Their Captain Travis was born and raised in Florida and has spent over 30 years fishing and exploring the South and Central Florida waterways.

You will fish aboard his 22-foot Tracker aluminum fishing boat, which was built in 2014 and can accommodate up to 6 persons. It is powered by a 90 HP Mercury engine and also has a wireless trolling motor to make it super quiet when trolling the shallow waters. The boat has an elevated 8’ x 8’ platform from which 4 anglers can fish comfortably, with a maximum of 6 people fishing in total. The LED lights that light up the shallow waters below and allow for the fish to be seen in the nighttime are a must have feature for bowfishing. It also has a GPS system, a fishfinder, safety equipment in form of life jackets, fire extinguishers, a CPR-trained crew, and flares. The boat contains equipment you will use on the trip, and Captain Travis is happy to teach you how to use it.

Twisted Limbs Bowfishing will take you fishing in the freshwaters for species such as Tilapia, Mayan Cichlid, Common Carp, Brown Hoplo, Sailfin Catfish, and native Bowfin, Longnose Gar,  Florida Gar, Catfish, and Pickerel. If you decide to take a trip to the saltwaters, you will target the likes of Longnose Gar, the super tasty Sheepshead, Mullet, Ladyfish, Black Drum, the delicious Flounder, and Stingray. Captain Travis advises you to bring your own cooler so you can take your catch home, and you can also bring your own bowfishing equipment if that is what you prefer. He will provide you with snacks and drinks onboard, and a Saltwater Florida Fishing License. This is a very child-friendly charter, where alcohol is not allowed.

About the Captain

Travis Lanphar
Polk City, Florida, United States
Member since October 2016
USCG Captain Travis Lanphar grew up in Central Florida and has spent the last 30 + years fishing the lakes, canals, and inshore flats of Central and South Florida. He is an avid bow hunter and archery enthusiast. His love for bowfishing started while he was preparing for an alligator hunt with a bow. Equipped with an old Ben Pearson recurve with badly twisted limbs and a tape on reel, he practiced shooting at fish to prepare for the alligator hunt. The excitement of shooting fish prompted him and his brother Shanon and nephew Briceson to compete in local bowfishing tournaments to hone their skills. Twisted Limbs Bowfishing was born. In May of 2014 they competed in the US Open Bowfishing Championship, with Outdoor Life Magazine on their boat. The story printed in the May 2015 issue of Outdoor Life Magazine. Travis now spends many nights and weekends sharing his love of bowfishing with others. Join him for an adventure that you won't forget.
