Finest Kind charters is run by Captain Norm Bekoff, who has been fishing the Florida waters for over 35 years and is keen on putting all his guest on lots of fish. He loves nothing more than to see smiling and satisfied faces of his guests as they reel in the fish of their dreams.
The location of Fort Lauderdale means that you will have easy access to highly sought-after species such as Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, and Tuna, and that you are in for a good fight with some of the mightiest fish around the Atlantic Ocean.
You will fish aboard his 29 foot Ricky Scarborough center console boat, which was originally built in 1977 and restored in 2009. This beauty is powered by a 210 HP Cummins engine with a maximum speed of 26 knots. Her “Carolina flare” allows for a very comfortable ride.
The boat has a GPS system, a fishfinder to locate the best fishing spots, and a VHF radio for connection to the USCG. It also has all the safety equipment including a CPR trained crew, flares, and life jackets. You will have an ice box available onboard to preserve the freshness of your catch, as well as a live bait tank and outriggers.
Captain Norm will teach you anything you need to know about the techniques and the equipment, and is able to provide lighter versions of it if you are bringing children along.
You will have rods, reels, tackle, live and artificial bait, and a Florida Fishing Licence. The targeted species are Great Barracuda, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, King and Spanish Mackerel, Skipjack Tuna, Black Grouper and Mutton Snapper, among the many available in these waters.
Captain Norm is happy to clean and fillet your catch at the end of the trip, and will bag it for you so you can take it home for a nice meal.
