Capt. Hollis Forrester’s Guide Service is run by a very passionate fisherman - Captain Hollis, who had started fishing at an early age and was influenced by his father. Fishing is in his blood, as his Great Grandfather, Grandfather, and Father were all avid fishermen, and whose footsteps he had followed in becoming a licensed captain through the United States Coast Guard. Captain Hollis will happily teach you the art of wading and drifting, which he believes are great fishing techniques for catching great trophy fish.

You will fish aboard his 25-foot Tran Cat flats boat, which was built in 2020 and has a capacity for 6 guests. It is powered by a 225 HP Yamaha engine with a maximum cruising speed of 43 knots. The boat is equipped with all the necessary safety equipment including life jackets, and has a GPS a VHF radio, and an anchoring system. You will also find an icebox on board which will preserve the freshness of your catch until you return to the shore. 

Capt. Hollis Forrester’s Guide Service will take you fishing in the Maragorda Bay Complex which consists of rich shallow waters rich with Redfish, Flounder and Speckled Trout, and a nursery for crabs, shrimp and finfish. You will be provided all the fishing gear including rods, reels, tackle, and artificial lures by Captain Hollis. You can also purchase live bait at an average cost of $20 for a quarter pound of live shrimp. You will have a livewell onboard to store your live baits.

Captain Hollis Forrester is a full time fishing guide in the Matagorda Bay Complex for the past 18 years. His knowledge of the complex can assure you a great time on the water catching trophy Trout and Redfish. He is an expert with artificial lures and if your not into lures he has access to get live shrimp which is a very popular way to get Reds and Specks plus Flounder. He loves to teach kids and new comers the tactics it takes with his years of knowledge. He has grown up fishing Matagorda Bay since he was 4 years old, so yes this is his back yard. His boat is a 25' Transport SVT with a 225 Yamaha with plenty of room for a comfortable ride. For an enjoyable trip give him a shout for an experience you'll not ever forget.
