Karumba Fishing Adventures will take you on the most fun and satisfying fishing adventure in Karumba! The charter is run by Skipper Ray Aquilina, who is described by previous guests as a fun and caring person. He goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome and catch fish. With many years of experience fishing in these waters, Ray is always able to take you to a new spot. He knows them all!
Skipper Ray’s goal is to help guests catch as much fish as possible so they make each trip a custom one. Depending on the tide and conditions, Ray will advise you on the best time to start the trip.
You will fish aboard their 20 foot Australian Marine center console boat, which was built in 2013 and has a capacity for 5 guests. It is powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine with a maximum cruising speed of 25 knots. This boat is equipped with a GPS, a VHF radio and an excellent fishfinder which helps the captain locate the spots where the fish swim in schools. It has all the safety equipment needed in form of life jackets, flares, a first-aid kit, EPIRB and a CPR-trained crew. The boat is fully wheelchair accessible, has an anchoring system and an icebox that preserves the freshness of your catch until you return to the shore.
Karumba Fishing Adventures will take you fishing in the Gulf of Carpentaria waters so you can choose whether you want to stay inshore or go nearshore of offshore into the deep waters. You can also choose to fish in the Norman River, as Karumba is situated at the mouth of this great river. Your targeted species will be Barramundi, Bream, Cobia, Grunter, Queenfish, Spanish Mackerel and other species available in the area.
Skipper Ray will provide Ugly Stik rods, Penn reels, and tackle, as well as lures. You will be served muffins on board when you take a short break from fishing.

Ray is a great bloke who goes above and beyond to find the fish it’s more like going fishing with a mate than on a charter boat.
