Rusty IV Charters

Whale Harbor Marina Mm 83.5 O…
Islamorada FL, United States

Rusty IV Charters is all about fishing and having a good time on the water. They will take you to the most pristine waters of Islamorada and show you exactly how it’s done! Operated by Captain Russell, who’s fished these waters for over 3 decades and knows every nook and cranny where the fish spend their days, you’ll have plenty to brag about once you get home.

The area of Islamorada offers plenty of catch and release species, but plenty of opportunities to keep fish, too. You can fish the backcountry of Florida Bay in Everglades National Park or near the Gulf for a wide variety of species. Targeted species will include Tarpon, Bonefish, Redfish, Snook, Mangrove Snapper, Permit, Sharks, Cobia, Jewfish, Goliath Grouper and Spanish Mackerel.

If you chose to fish in the offshore waters in the calm summer, you’ll be catching Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, and Wahoo. Fishing the reefs in the summer is excellent for Red Snapper and Gag Grouper, King Mackerel, Bonito, Sailfish, Amberjack and more.

Rusty IV Charters operate a 21 foot Parker center console boat, which is comfortable in both the offshore and the backcountry waters. It is 8 and a half feet wide and powered by a reliable 200 HP Yamaha Saltwater Series outboard engine. It contains the latest electronics and Coast Guard safety equipment. Tackle and fishing gear are all in new condition, and you will also find an icebox, a live well and fly fishing equipment on board.

Captain Russell believes in preserving the fisheries and will release all fish that are not going to be eaten. The days of keeping a fish for mounting are over and a fiberglass replica looks just as good! You will enjoy the feeling of knowing that your trophy catch is still swimming and can be caught again. Captain Russell’s motto is: “Release the fish to make more trophies for future generations”.

About the Captain

Russell Pellow
Islamorada, Florida, United States
Member since December 2016
Captain Russell's favorite fish to catch is the majestic Tarpon, which is present year-round and thus is his most popular fishing trip. Russell has been fishing for a living in Islamorada in the Florida Keys since 1978 and still enjoys fishing immensely, as well as the excitement of seeing the thrill on a guest's face after a successful fishing trip!
