Rex took us out for a morning Mahi Mahi trip and we had a blast. Rex was patient as we are nowhere near expert fishers. We hooked one of the largest Mahi Mahi I’ve ever seen however he got away. We made up for it with a couple of keepers later in the morning which Rex prepared and froze for us after our trip. Would strongly recommend going fishing with Rex for anyone considering a great morning of fishing.

Captain Rex is really more someone you might hire to take you scuba diving. As a fishing guide he is not well equipped and is inexperienced. The boat is smaller then what is stated in the on line description. He didn’t know where to take us and we caught one fish. Really disappointing, especially when you are paying $600. Many of the other charters were returning with coolers full fish. He isn’t someone I would hire again.

Having fished for 37 years would qualify as experienced in anybody’s book except this client for some reason. While from out of town, and unfamiliar with this area, this client did not know he was taken to some of the best near shore fishing areas to troll for wahoo, sailfish, and even grouper, using new techniques. His son admitted having hooked two of the largest fish ever on rod & reel, yet had to be coached on how to fish, eventually losing both. That’s fishing! I sight casted to a cobia swimming by with a few different pre rigged pitch baits and artificials.
As for my boat, which is a 27’ World Cat that measures 30’ with the pulpit and the motors. Client somehow is sight measuring the LOA of vessel and drawing his own conclusions.
After extending this charter by an extra hour, I decided to call it a day when clients kids started bickering and arguing with each other.
Some clients do not understand the preparations and equipment to prepare for days like today. And almost every single one of my charters leaves positive reviews, or atleast knows what outriggers are.
