Head out in search of a freshwater legend with “Heatwave Fishing Charters”! You’ll explore the productive Detroit River with Captain Craig Miller. He grew up fishing in Michigan and you’re hard-pressed to find a guide who’s caught more Walleye than he has!

Your vessel for the day is 20’ Lund Pro V, ideal for up to 4 anglers. She’s powered by a single 225 HP Mercury Verado engine and is rigged with the latest in navigational electronics including top-of-the-line Fish Finder and GPS. There’s plenty of space for everyone on board to fish without bumping elbows and comfortably relax.

Many freshwater anglers consider Walleye to be their holy grail fish! There are few places where you’ll have a better chance at hooking your own trophy than right here in the Detroit River. This outstanding fishery is home to a huge Walleye population and you’ll troll and jig for your prize.

Capt. Craig provides top-notch Abu Garcia reels and tournament series Rp2 rods, as well as lures, and live bait, to ensure you have a successful day. Any catch you decide to keep, he’s happy to clean and fillet at the end of the trip.

Captain Craig Miller grew up only a stone’s throw from Saginaw Bay and the Tittabawassee River and started fishing at an early age. Craig considers himself very lucky to have had the opportunity to fish for Walleye every day after school. When he turned 23, he moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he was introduced to the beautiful Lake St. Clair. There, he got his first taste of fishing for trophy Musky, which was the beginning of his passion for that freshwater gamefish. Captain Craig is U.S.C.G. Licensed Master Captain, Red Cross Certified in CPR & First Aid, as well as a member of the Michigan Charter Boat Association and the Michigan-Ontario Muskie Club. For Craig, fishing is more than just business – it’s an obsession.
