Its navigational electronics include a Simrad NSS evo2 GPS, all Simrad fish finder and radar, as well as Simrad and Standard Horizon VHF radios. Sawdust Sportfishing Charters offers different packages to choose from. Depending on how much time you want to spend on the water and which species you would like to target, you can go for four, six, eight, and ten-hour trips. A half day trip will see you fishing inshore the Boston Harbor islands for Striped Bass and Bluefish, whilst on a ¾ day trip, you will be able to concentrate only on chasing Bass. You can choose to stay within a 3-mile radius or head up to 50 miles offshore to the Stellwagen Bank area to target Bluefin Tuna and Mako Shark. Among the other species are Cod, Haddock, Fluke, Atlantic Mackerel, and Pollock. According to the limits, you may keep a 28-inch fish per person, whilst the crew may keep a Bluefin Tuna that is bigger than 73 inches.

Your trip with Sawdust Sportfishing Charters will include your fishing licenses, all top of the line rods, reels, and tackle, as well as Mackerel, Squid, and Bunker live bait and lures. Your fish will be cleaned and filleted for you by the crew at the end of the trip. The crew will also offer drinking water, so you may feel free to bring your food if you want.

About the Captain

Jack Holmes
Hingham, Massachusetts, United States
Member since January 2017
Captain Jack Holmes comes from a family of fishermen. His passion began at an early age when his grandfather and father took him fishing. Jack spent his summers chasing Bluefish on the waters off Falmouth, Massachusetts. After graduating college, Jack moved to Martha's Vineyard in 1999, where he spent the next 15 summers working as a Captain or mate on various charter and private sportfishing boats. He is now living in Hingham with his wife and Jen and their labrador Tilly. Having extensively fished the waters around Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, the Northeast canyons, east of Chatham, Boston Harbor, and Stellwagon Bank, Captain Jack knows the best spots and fishing playground. He enjoys taking his clients and friends out and sharing his knowledge with them.

Casual, friendly, funny, extremely knowledgeable Captain and 1st mate.
Six of us chartered this boat. A few never have done this before. We all learned a lot, caught a lot of fish, and had a great time.
Hoping to make this an annual trip.
Check it out! Your gonna catch fish and have fun!!!

Right from the start, it was clear we were in for a great day. Jack’s professionalism and personability as we left the dock immediately put the less experienced members of the party at ease. Jack and his mate Alex’s genuine enthusiasm and excitement for finding and catching fish was infectious. Jack’s experience payed off in a big way as we headed from spot to spot around the harbor. The boat was clean, comfortable, and easily fit the five members of the bachelor party. Jack filleted and bagged our catch for us, right on the boat, and now we’ll be eating bass for the foreseeable future. I couldn’t recommend this any more highly.
