This wasn’t a very good fishing trip. We did catch fish but they were small and had to throw them back. We went home empty handed. This was a 5 hour trip and we got there 1/2 hour late. So out of the 4 1/2 hour trip we fished 2 hours and road around 2 1/2 hour looking for another spot to fish. Don’t know why the captain kept moving the fish were there, sometime it take a little for the fish to find your bait.

David,
Yes, fishing and the wind was terrible. Our fish are tide oriented. They move and feed at certain spots depending on the tide high, that’s why I move around a lot. Rarely do I have a charter that fishing is that slow, that’s why I only charged you $125. I don’t think any other guide would have done that. I worked hard all day, the bigger fish just didn’t coroperate.

Was disappointed with the results but.. that’s fishing. Capt Ron tried for 5 hrs. Caught 9 Trout, only 2 keepers. Was picked up and returned to the motel and had the fish filleted for me. Boat and gear were in good shape. Better luck next time I hope.

Tough day for sure. Unusually slow fishing that day.

Capt. Ron provided a great trip flats fishing the tidal creeks north and east of the St. Johns river in Jacksonville.  He is very experienced and has intimate knowledge of the tidal creeks and tide conditions.  his 18’ flats skiff was well suited and equipped for the fishing we did.  I had some experience casting but was not very good at accuracy or distance.  Capt. Ron patiently worked with me and taught me a better way to cast and helped me figure out some bad habits that needed correcting in order to make casting work.  On top of all that he put me on fish and I caught 12 red fish, a black drum, and 2 sea trout.  Great day, Great Captain.  Highly recommend
