Only problem was very rough seas.  3 of the 4 of us were seasick.  NOT the ship’s fault!
Landed 3 Mahi - mahi.  Guess who didn’t get one.  Again, not the ships fault.
Extremely professional operation from the owner to the crew.

First time fishing in the DR with my sons (in their 20’s).  Both son’s got seasick (even on Dramamine)...  10-12 foot swells fortunately the Barbie is a large boat and powered through the seas.  Trolling along and then we hit all three lines at the same time ... the crew was on it and all three of us landed some large Mahi Mahi .... the largest being about 60 lbs.  We all will remember this trip! ....  A very professional crew… highly recommend them ...  a great time had by all.

Overall it was great…little rough to begin with but oh well.  Boat was clean and stocked and captain and first mate were good but didn’t speak much English not a deal breaker.  Fishing was a little slow but hey its called fishing not catching, the 1 fish we did catch tho…was a blue marlin and that would be where my only complaint would be as we didn’t get the opportunity to bring on board they cut the line 10ft out and that’s all we got.  Overall I would go back tho

Thank you so much for your review! We really appreciate it! It was a pleasure having your group with the Barbie Fishing Team! It is always our priority to provide the best quality experience possible! By the way, you had an amazing catch! Is not that often that we see Blue Marlins on this particular season. However, due to state and federal NOAA regulations, we can’t bring Blue Marlins under 99 inches on board. Is up to the Captain to bring the Marlin on board if he thinks that is likely going to be bigger that 99 inches. We apologize for the whole misunderstanding! For more information, feel free to visit:

http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/sfa/hms/compliance/guides/documents/hms_rec_compliance_guide_total.pdf

for a complete guide on rules and regulations on fishing in Dominican Republic/Puerto Rico area. I hope you enjoyed your charter trip in the Barbie! Come back soon!

Take care,

Dr. Sobrino
