High Hook Charter Fishing is your go to charter if you want to catch trophy Striped Bass or Bluefin Tuna in the Massachusetts waters. The charter is run by an expert in fish feeding habits, their migration and an all round great person: Captain Willie Woodruff. He has fished these waters since he could walk and knows the best spots of the season and the time of the day.
You will fish aboard a 26 foot Cape Cod center console boat, powered by a 420 HP Yanmar engine. It makes it fast and sound on the water, and will get you to the desired fishing location expediently. The boat is equipped with all the safety and electronics needed such as life jackets and a fishfinder.
You will find the flybridge very useful for sight fishing and even sightseeing as the coast of Massachusetts offers spectacular views of Duxbury Bay, Cape Cod Bay, and Plymouth Bay.
The area is surrounded by Stellwagen Bank which is one of the most productive fishing grounds on the east coast due to the twice-daily tides to the east and west. These tides, which pound the bank’s edges with currents, drive up the nutrient-rich bottom water to the surface in a process called upwelling. This process means that fish always have good quality feeding grounds which is why they are present in such high numbers.
High Hook Charter Fishing can take you fishing for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Haddock, Flounder, Black Seabass, Sharks, Bluefin Tuna, Atlantic Cod and many more species that feed right in these waters. Bass are a migratory species which show up in mid-May and leave in October.
You will have all the fishing gear provided, including live and artificial baits, a fishing license and a cleaning and filleting service at the end of the trip. Children are most welcome on this charter so come out and play with your family for a day on the water.
