Fantasy Fisherman

7079 West Grant Street
Homosassa Springs FL, United States

Fantasy Fisherman invites you on a fishing adventure in the waters of Homosassa Springs. The charter is operated by Captain Aaron Shields who says his charter is his concept in life. He believes everyone should chase their dreams or fantasies in life whatever they may be. Fish for your fantasy if you want to catch it. And that’s exactly what you’ll do on your trip!

Captain Aaron has been on the water his entire life and has been a fishing guide since 2004. He is part of Evinrude’s Pro Staff and a member of the Homosassa Guides Association. He believes one of the best things about being a fishing guide is helping someone catch their first fish.

He can accommodate all levels of anglers in all aspects of inshore and nearshore fishing: from spin to plug or fly. You will go out on his 22-foot Panga center console powered by a 90HP Evinrude E-Tec engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 30 knots.

The boat is fully equipped with the necessary fish gear, a GPS, a fishfinder, safety equipment, and icebox, and a wireless trolling motor. The boat will comfortably take you fishing in the inshore and nearshore waters, the flats, the wrecks, and in the backcountry depending on the season and what you want to catch.

Your targeted species will include Redfish, Snook, Sheepshead, Grouper, Black Drum, Cobia, Jack Crevalle, Black Seabass, Mangrove Snapper, Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Tarpon, and Tripletail.

Citrus County offers some of the best fishing in the world and one of the other great activities is the Scallop season which runs from the last weekend of June unit September 24th. This is a great activity for the whole family and easy for all ages. Recreational harvesting of the Bay Scallop is done by snorkeling in crystal clear water and collecting by hand for an excellent meal and experience.

I have been on the water my entire life and have a true love all types of fishing. I Was born on the upper end of the Chesapeake Bay in the small town of Havre De Grace. My oldest and fondest memories are of growing up on the banks of the Susquehanna River as a young boy. My parents moved to Crystal River Florida when I was five and My father and I started exploring the seven different rivers of Citrus County. My love for fishing started when I became close friends with the son of a local commercial fisherman. I became a fishing guide because I truly love fishing and helping others catch fish. I can accommodate anglers of all levels. I believe one of the best things about being a fishing guide is helping someone especially kids catch their first fish, an experience that they will remember for a lifetime. I am very patient with beginners and will work hard to make sure you catch fish and have a safe enjoyable day out on the water.
