Legacy Sportfishing is a real threat to the fish of Lake Ontario. The crew specializes in targeting Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout on the waters of the world’s renowned fishing destination. They are located in the port of Sandy Creek in Hamlin, New York.
Enjoy a ride with Legacy Sportfishing aboard a 31-ft Penn Yan boat, which comes powered by twin 260 HP Mercruiser engines for more security and a dry ride. It can comfortably take up to six anglers and has a maximum cruising speed of 30 knots. The vessel if fully rigged with navigational electronics, which include Humminbird 1159ci HD GPS and fish finder, Cobra Marine VHF radio, Raymarine autopilot, and Humminbird radar. As well as that, the boat is equipped with Cannon Mag 10 STX downriggers, a toilet for your maximum comfort on the water, Pyle Marine stereo, Fish Hawk X4, and twin 90-gallon fuel tanks. There is a galley with refrigerator and sink and a large cockpit covered by hard top.
Legacy Sportfishing begins their season right around April 1st, when the crew primarily targets hungry Brown Trout, fishing the shallow water thermal bar. With the thermocline established by July, Legacy Sportfishing starts chasing King Salmon and Steelhead. As September comes, large mature Salmon can be found in the shallow water. The Captain specializes in trolling and is also a great teacher. Your age and expertise don’t matter: beginner to an occasional angler to pro – everybody is welcome to join the adventure.
Your adventure with Legacy Sportfishing will include rods, reels, and all tackle, as well as Dreamweaver and Bay Rat lures. Please, purchase your fishing licenses prior to the trip. Your catch will be cleaned and filleted for you to take home and fill the freezer or have dinner later, so you may want to bring a cooler with you. You can feel free to take your own snacks and drinks with you as well.
