Rock Grass Fishing Charters

5300 South Cherokee Way
Homosassa FL, United States

Rock Grass Fishing Charters invites you on a scalloping and fishing adventure in Homosassa, Florida. They offer Homosassa Springs tours mixed with scalloping for a true Floridian experience, or a shallow water fishing trip for some of the best species around.

The charter is operated by Captain Paul Kolacia, who is a resident of Homosassa and knows these waters like the palm of his hand. He has spent many summers searching the inshore and nearshore waters of Homosassa for Scallops when they are in season, which runs from July 1st through September 24th.

These tasty saltwater clams are a huge hit come season, providing a great family bonding experience for those who search for them. Captain Paul offers Scalloping-only trips, as well as Scalloping and Homosassa Springs excursions. Once you collect the scallops off of the seabed, you can leave them to be cleaned (at an extra cost) while you visit the springs and take a swim in the crystal clear waters.

Rock Grass Fishing Charters also offers Inshore fishing in the Homosassa and Crystal River area, using light tackle to target Redfish and Spotted Seatrout. These species are present year round in Florida, with the peak season running from March through September. Both fish are good game and food quality, and not to mention, look super attractive in your photos.

You will fish aboard a 20-foot Carolina skiff originally built in 2003, and restored in 2016. Powered by a 115 HP Yamaha engine, this boat is super fast with a maximum cruising speed of 45 knots. It will whisk you to the best and most productive fishing spots in a heartbeat, and prove very efficient when changing locations.
