Night Flight Charters

Angler Drive
Goodland FL, United States

Night Flight Charters operates out of Goodland, Florida. Fishing the waters in and around the Everglades, you will have a memorable day with Captain Matt. He is one of the most respectable guides in the area, who holds the world record for catching Snook on a fly and has invented some of the fly patterns. Intrigued? Look no further!

Enjoy your trip with Night Flight Charters aboard a 22-ft Pathfinder boat, which comes powered by a 150 HP Yamaha 4-stroke engine. It is equipped with navigational electronics, which include a GPS, a VHF radio, and a fish finder. The vessel is wheelchair accessible and is fitted with a Motorguide Xi5 pinpoint wireless trolling motor for a quiet ride, a 10-ft Blade Power-Pole anchor to help you stay rooted to the fishing grounds, an ice-box to keep the catch fresh during the day, and a live bait tank. On board, there is enough fishing space for up to three guests. The boat drafts 8 to 10 inches of water.

Night Flight Charters’ trips are four, six, and eight hours. You will get an opportunity to fish inshore, nearshore, the flats, and the Thousand Islands. The methods may vary when pursuing the gamefish. The Captain uses Daiwa spinning reels with ten-pound test line and Loomis rods for Snook, Redfish, and Trout. For the fly fishing action, you will be using the finest Orvis fly rods and reels, since the Captain has been the company’s endorsed guide for many years now.

Your other targeted species will include Permit, Jack Crevalle, Tarpon, Black Drum, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Tripletail, and many more.

A trip with Night Flight Charters comes inclusive with all you need to put your catch together. You will be provided with Orvis fly fishing equipment, the licenses, rods, reels, tackle, live bait, and lures. Once caught, the fish will be cleaned and filleted for you at the end of the trip for a ride home, where you could have it for dinner or just fill the freezer.

Matt had us on the fish all day; we took home a mess of Specs, and a rogue flounder, to eat. The highlight of the day was a 24 lb Snook taken on 15 lb test; Matt chased him down with the boat to assist me as the fish was also racing with an incoming tide! He was as excited as we were; maybe more so!!! Great attitude and easy to be with; we look forward to our next trip with him.

The trip was enjoyable and Captain Matt took us to some location where the fishing was excellent.  We caught lots of sea trout, some ladyfish, jack, lizardfish and even a pompano. Captain Matt was very helpful in showing us the proper techniques for the fish we were finding. He helped make the day very enjoyable for my son and I.

We had the sea trout and pompano cooked for us at Kretch’s later in the day and it tasted great, especially the sea trout.
