Champion Charters

200 Eglin Parkway Northeast
Fort Walton Beach FL, United States

Champion Charters is a veteran-owned and operated fishing charter service, providing offshore and nearshore fishing trips in Destin, Florida. All trips depart from Ft. Walton Beach via the Destin Pass. The crew commonly picks up guests at the Destin Harbor Walk for your convenience.

You’ll be fishing on a 3200 Century Walk-around with Cobia tower powered by twin Yamaha 250s engines. The boat features a spacious deck, a cabin with two sleeping areas, a full bathroom with shower, stovetop and a microwave, as well as a TV with DVD player. A range of navigational gear including GPS, radio and fishfinder is also utilized on board.

Ryan Gill, your captain, started his fishing charter business back when thousands of service members had to leave the military due to budget restrictions. After having spent almost 13 years in the Air Force, Ryan decided to embrace the opportunity and achieve his dream of becoming a fishing guide.

Champion Charters also provide bluewater fishing for Billfish (Marlin and Sailifish), Dorado (Mahi Mahi), Wahoo and Tuna. These trips do require custom pricing, dependent on fuel consumption, so feel free to ask for details. All fishing equipment for your party is provided by Captain Gill, including both live and artificial bait. All boat occupants must possess a fishing license which is included in the price.

We told Capt. Ryan that we wanted to catch big fish.  He knew where to go to make sure we had a fishing trip to remember. This was the best offshore fishing trip I have ever been on.  I will definitely use Capt. Ryan whenever I am in the Destin area.  We caught a Nurse Shark and Bonito. It was a great trip!!!

Great trip. Really appreciate the fact that the Captain did not waiste our time at non productive spots. He moved us around to find the fish.

Captain Ryan had warned use that the tide was going to be high and had even offered to refund our payment. Boats under 30ft was advised not to go out but the Champion is over 30ft and our boys had drove down 6hrs after work on Friday getting in after midnight just for this fishing trip on Saturday and was ready to go fishing. It was not a good day to be out fishing but we never felt unsafe at anytime.  Captain Ryan handled the boat very well. We caught several fish but most had to be thrown back. Thanks Captain Ryan for taken my guys fishing.

Any charter captain who's honest will tell you that not every day is a record breaker. Well, this was one of those days and I think its just as important to make those reports as reporting awesome days. My… Read Full Report →
