This was our second fishing trip with Captain Brad. We had an awesome experience in August, so we decided to go again in April. It was a really windy day and the fish weren’t biting well. Some of Captain Brad’s favorite spots were too rough to fish, so he took us to several spots that were more protected from the wind. One lake surrounded by marsh grass proved to be one of the best spots. It was accessed by a small channel that was barely bigger than the boat, but Brad made it look easy. We caught several little reds, and a couple of specks there. He caught a few small mullet with a cast net in the small channel. We tried to catch some bigger fish with those, but that did not work out. Then, we found a couple of pelicans that were diving for fish, so we fished with them. We caught a couple more little reds and several catfish. When we left that spot, we tried for bigger bull reds, but we were unable to catch any. At the end of the trip, we got soaked from the waves produced by the high winds. It was a blast.

It was another memorable fishing trip for my son and I. We caught 11 fish total. One speckled trout was a keeper that turned into dinner.

Thanks, Captain Brad, for making the trip entertaining. Even during the slow times, it was never boring.

When you fish with Captain Brad, ask him about the time that two bucks made him think he was being attacked by Bigfoot!

Captain Brad is very knowledgeable about the area we fished. He had live bait in the boat within 15 minutes of leaving the dock and we were fishing 5 minutes later. We fished in August, which sounds like one of the worst times to fish since it is so hot, but we still caught 5 redfish, 2 Spanish mackerel and 2 catfish. Captain Brad was also fishing, but when he hooked a fish, he would hand it to my 12 year old son. His tower boat was another experience for my son. Captain Brad took him up on the tower and showed him how to look for schools of bait and fish activity in the water. His equipment and boat are in excellent condition. His attitude is perfect for teaching the new fisherman what to do or the experienced fisherman where to cast. You will not be disappointed.

My family of 6 (husband and myself plus our four children) booked a charter with Brad after reading the reviews online. While we were out fishing, some dark and ominous clouds rolled in, along with thunder and lightning. Captain Brad got us all to safety in a quick and professional manner, and we waited it out at a nearby state park shelter. It was a doozy! Although the fish just weren’t biting (we forgot to consult the farmer’s almanac first, it would’ve told us so!) Captain Brad kept us out even longer than our 4 hour trip to try and hook some and he reimbursed some of our money when we didn’t. He was patient with the kids, and very knowledgeable about the area fishing spots and local fishing folklore. Overall, even though we were bummed about not getting fish, we had a great time on the boat and would book with Captain Brad again any time!

Captain was great but can’t rate the experience very high because we catch fish in a regular basis better in Nebraska.  Much better

What an awesome day !  Captain “DJ” Brad had us hooked up early and often. Great guy with an even better attitude. He felt like one of the family. We caught trout, reds, bluefish and even some stingrays. Of course after we discarded the banana ! LOL !  Don’t shop around. If Brad is available, he is your man.
