Southern Marsh Charters

Sutton Lakes Boulevard
Jacksonville FL, United States

Southern Marsh Charters invites you to an ultimate sight fishing experience in the backcountry marsh of Northeast Florida. This diverse fishery offers a range of inshore fishing experiences created by the Mother Nature and the seasons of the year. You can take a flood tide, low tide, and dock light fishing trip and enjoy catching a variety of fish.

The shrimp run starts as soon as Spring rolls in, making them come out when the Sun sets and the dock lights come on. This creates the perfect feeding grounds for Speckled Trout which face into the current waiting for the shrimp to pass by.

Also starting in Spring is the low tide, which runs through Fall. In this period, Redfish become aggressive and start chasing shrimp and small baitfish into extremely shallow waters. As you pole around the twisty creeks, you can run into Redfish, Flounder, and Tarpon.

Finally, there is the flood tide season which starts at the end of the Summer and runs through Fall. The floods occur in the spartina grass areas that remain dry in other seasons. These floods attract Redfish as they provide new feeding grounds and new water.

Captain Andrew will take you out on his 16-foot Ankona flats boat originally built in 2010, and powered by a 40 HP Tohatsu engine. The boat has a capacity for up to 2 anglers and is equipped with safety features such as life jackets and a GPS for navigation.

Southern Marsh Charters will include everything you need on your fishing trip, including conventional rods, reels, and tackle, as well as fly fishing equipment. There will be live and artificial baits, too, as well as a fishing license. Please note all fish are catch and release strictly.
