Salty Fishing Charters invites you on a fishing adventure of a lifetime in Fort Myers, Florida. The man who makes your adventure so memorable is Captain Daniel Medina, a USCG licensed captain and once-upon-a-time, a Miami banker. Captain Daniel has fished his whole life, and while he enjoyed banking, he realized fishing was his true calling and became a charter boat captain.

Now that you know how passionate Captain Daniel is about fishing, you can only imagine how good he is at it! He provides excellent support to first-timers and is always up for a challenge with experienced anglers. Offering nearshore and offshore trips that last four, six, eight, twelve, and sixteen hours, Captain Daniel will put you on a variety of species.

If you choose a nearshore trip, you can target Grouper, Grunt, Jack Crevalle, Snapper, Barracuda, and King Mackerel. Alternatively, you can choose an offshore adventure where the targeted species will be high-quality fish such as Scamp Grouper, Red Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, Porgies, Mutton Snapper, and Black Grouper.

Salty Fishing Charters operates a 26 ft Glacier Bay center console catamaran originally built in 1998 and restored in 2015. It is fitted with modern electronics including a Garmin GPS and a Furuno fishfinder, as well as two 200 gallon ice boxes to keep the catch fresh.

Captain Daniel and his crew will provide the fishing gear, live and artificial baits, the license, fuel, bottled water, ice for the catch, ice for your food and drinks, a fish cleaning service at the end of the trip, and more than anything a great fishing adventure!

About the Captain

Daniel Medina
Fort Myers, Florida, United States
Member since June 2016
My first stint at guiding came back when i lived in Miami/Homestead, FL. I was working in bank management, but found myself literally eating, breathing and living fishing. I would take friends out who had taken well known guides, and we would have equal or greater success. As many as 4-5 times a week, I would get out of work, take off my tie, and change in my car, heading to do some night fishing. I would fish a few hours, head home, clean the gear and fish, and do it all over the next day. I realized that if you truly loved what you do, you could do it forever. I got out of banking. I went and obtained my captain's license, and guided Biscayne Bay and Flamingo. I did this until we left Miami due to family medical issues where we moved to Ocala. We stayed for a year and a half in Ocala before I just couldn't take being away from the saltwater. We moved to Cape Coral so I could attend Marine Mechanics school. It was only a matter of time before the itch to guide again returned...
