Padre Boulevard
South Padre Island TX, United State…

SPI Red Charters invites you for a day of non-stop fishing fun in the abundant waters of South Padre Island, Texas. The charter is owned and operated by Captain Clayton Mock, a bay fishing guide who has been fishing these waters since he was a kid. Captain Clayton’s goal is to not only catch fish but to teach and share his knowledge with guests about this gorgeous fishery. Kids are ALWAYS welcome!

You will fish aboard a Dargel Skout flats boat built in 2017 and powered by a 200 HP Suzuki engine. This brand new beauty will allow you to access extremely shallow water while using its wireless trolling motor. It has a GPS, a livewell, and all the safety features approved by the USCG.

SPI Red Charters guests use nothing but the best fishing gear while on the water. Captain Clayton will provide you with TFO Tactical Inshore rods paired with Pflueger Presidential spinning reels. You will also have lures and live baits, though live bait in the form of Croakers is available in the Summer mostly. Captain Clayton can also use cut bait if needed to attract the fish and make your day productive and successful.

Your targeted species will be Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Black Drum. These species can be found is very good numbers in the local fisheries. The only things you will need to bring is a Texas fishing license and whatever drinks and snacks you will want for the day. Bottled water and ice is always stocked in Captain Clayton’s Yeti cooler. After a great day of fishing, fish cleaning and bagging is included.

Captain Clayton says: “I love being on the water and being a part of the memories made with my clients and their families. I truly love my job and being out on the water. Customer service is absolutely my top priority! From beginners to seasoned fishermen, I cater to my guests and make sure they are as comfortable as possible while we are out.”.

About the Captain

Clayton Mock
South Padre Island, Texas, United States
Member since April 2017
My family has been in the Port Isabel/South Padre Island area dating back to the 1940's. Being a fishing captain is in my blood. I have been fishing the Lower Laguna Madre since I was about 5, maybe younger. My great-grandfather, grandfather, father, 2 uncles, cousins, and myself have been or are currently a fishing captain here. I came by it naturally. Fishing has always been my passion. I knew from a young age that I wasn't made for an office job and wanted my career to be something I truly loved. I love my job and take pride in carrying on a Mock family tradition. It's a great feeling when I'm out on the water, look up at times, and see my Dad or Uncle fishing off in the distance.
