Captain had no ideal where to put you on fish. First fish in boat was around 1:00 which meant out day was about over. Was so disappointed with overall trip for the money.
After being on the boat I discovered captain has only been guiding for about a year.
Bye all means not enough experance for the money. Will never book again. Could have done same trip for 1/3 the money. Wish booking. Com would give me credit for such an unproductive trip. Do not recommend !!
Thanks JD.

Thank you for your feedback, let me see if I can address your concerns.

“Full day trip with captain Kevin”
First off it was only a six-hour trip with Captain Kyle? Kevin was the deck hand you tipped $10 for six hours of work.

“Captain had no ideal where to put you on fish. First fish in boat was around 1:00 which meant out day was about over.”
Very strange comment considering you called Cap Kyle the next day and asked him to take you on an inshore trip?????
Your trip limited out with 12 snapper and a couple nice Mahi and missed on a number of other fish? If you check our site you will see that Team So Reel placed 1st Wahoo and 2nd Mahi in the Port Aransas outboard tournament this summer, led by Cap Kyle. At the end of the day it is fishing and every day is different, however most clients would be pleased with your results?
“ Was so disappointed with overall trip for the money.

You most of misunderstood, Kyle (not Kevin) has been fishing these waters for over 15 years and has worked many years on other charters. He has only been with So Reel for a year.

“Bye all means not enough experance for the money. Will never book again. Could have done same trip for 1/3 the money. Wish booking. Com would give me credit for such an unproductive trip. Do not recommend !!”
By all means enjoy your $400 offshore charter, however I would recommend you bring your oars! You do realize it cost $600 just to fill the boat with fuel? I would have considered refunded some of your money had you come home empty handed or voiced your concerns with me before leaving your review.

Thanks, David Brown Owner

The port engine wouldn’t start at first. Then the boat had to be brought back to the marina. We were taking on water. The one crew member finally took us out on a different boat. We didn’t catch near the fish we thought we would. Was not the experience we thought we would get when we booked the trip.

Well we did have have some issues and did our best to give the customer the experience they where looking for and cut the price in half!  After returning to the dock we could have just refunded the deposit, however we got another boat to run the trip (per their request) but sea had got real rough so could not get out as far as we had hoped. Bottom line we spent over 12 hours of our time to please the customer and charged them less than a 4 hour trip would cost.
Also,  the water was due to a leak in one of the hose to the live Well that got turned on by accident. Fixed
