Time Flies Charters invites you to spend a day on the water with Captain Clayton Simmons out of Charleston, South Carolina. He is the owner and operator of Time Flies Charters whose passion for fishing started at a young age. Captain Clayton says it has shaped him as a person, a dad, and a charter captain.
You can book a trip with Captain Clayton to the harbor, creeks, and jetties where your targeted species will be Redfish, Trout, and Flounder. There’s plenty to do here at pretty much any time of the year. Time Flies Charters uses the best gear for the conditions. They provide rods, reels, tackle, live and artificial bait, a fishing license, drinks, snacks, and fly fishing equipment. Captain Clayton always brings several types of artificial and live bait, so he is prepared for every fish that bites. He regularly switches fishing techniques so everybody can fish actively.
The boat you will fish on is an 22-foot Pursuit center console originally built in 2008. It is powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 48 knots. The boat features all the electronics and safety gear needed for a productive trip, a wireless trolling motor, and a live bait well. The boat’s big bow and high bow rails allow 2 anglers to cast safely - great news if you aren’t used to being on the boat.
Captain Clayton is a lifelong angler. While attending College of Charleston he spent most his time learning as much as possible about the various types of angling opportunities around the lowcountry. He must have studied a bit as well since he earned a BA in Communications in 2000. Although he has a love for all types of fishing, most of the time you can find him up in the flats chasing Redfish or out near the jetties casting to Flounder, Red Drum, and Tarpon. Your captain will put you on the fish, it is up to you to catch them.
