Twin Rivers Guide Service invites you to enjoy a day of fishing in the beautiful waterways around South Hill, Virginia. This area is known for the number of rivers and lakes that surround it and produce good numbers of fish. Though human hand does play its part in restocking the population of fish, there is always something lurking in the waters below.

Fishing in South Hill is excellent for Striped Bass and Catfish. Both species are available year-round in one or more of the following locations: Staunton and Dan Rivers, Kerr Reservoir (Buggs Island) and Lake Gaston. The Bass caught here usually weighs around 20 lbs, whereas the Catfish come in all sizes.

Stepping aboard Captain Robert’s 21’ Carolina Skiff you will feel very close to nature as the dimensions of the boat allow for threading even the most inaccessible waters. It was built in 2004 with a capacity for up to six persons, and Captain Robert says you are welcome to bring kids over the age of 12 on your fishing trip.

The vessel is powered by a single 115 HP Suzuki engine and contains navigation in the form of a GPS, a fishfinder, and a VHF radio. Safety features include life jackets, fire extinguishers, first-aid, and flares. And the wide t-top provides plenty of shade on the warmer days.

Twin Rivers Guide Service offers half day trips in the morning and the afternoon, as well as full day trips, and seasonal sightseeing tours. The fishing trips include all Abu Garcia tackle and bait, ice, and fish cleaning and packaging once the trip is over. Captain Robert advises that all you need to bring is your fishing license and snacks.

The service was excellent, the fish just were not biting. Strong wind out of the east is never good. Plan to book another trip but only with Robert as captain.
