Using a variety of techniques and bait, and depending on the species you’ll be targeting, James will dish out pro tips so you can have as many fish in the boat as possible.

James runs full day trips that last seven hours and are suited to individuals or a group of anglers and kids. The season runs from March 10th to November 30th, with the best time being late Spring and early Summer. At this time, you can catch up to 100 Walley in a day! Other species are caught at different times of the year.

You will fish aboard a clean and well maintained 2015 Lund Impact Boat that has a capacity for up to four guests. It has all the extras such as a cooler for drinks and food, a livewell for the bait, a wireless trolling motor, a GPS unit, a fishfinder, and a multimedia system for entertainment. The vessel is equipped with life jackets and your guide is CPR-trained.

Prairie Guide Service provides the necessary fishing gear such as high-quality tackle, rods, reels, ice, and bait. Cleaning, packaging, and freezing of fish is also included. You are responsible for obtaining a valid South Carolina fishing license prior to your trip. If you wish, you can bring own drinks, snacks, and lunch.

James advises you also bring sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellant, and a camera to capture the glorious moments.

James had moved to Chamberlain to start a teaching career and to guide and hunt part time. Soon after, he became a full time guide and hunter, and now teaches part time. Being a teacher, James is naturally very patient. He is excellent at transferring his knowledge onto his guests, and showing them a great time on the water.
