Cody was great! The weather was too windy for our flounder gigging trip because of the murky waters. He called us early, and we changed our trip to fishing the afternoon. We caught black drum and redfish. Capt Cody is very knowledgeable and helped us improve our saltwater fishing skills! He made the trip fun and enjoyable and had our lines in the water the whole time! There is always a rod ready to go for you no matter what! He scouts ahead of time and knows how to land you on some fish! Not only did we land enough black drum for dinner with plenty of leftovers, but we learned how to cast farther and more accurately. Cody is an excellent guide with the heart of a teacher. 10/10 would recommend! Nice boat, smooth ride, beautiful bay!

Captain Cody was patient, attentive, and accommodating. We fished with live shrimp, and he did a great job of scoping out the fish and keeping us on them.  The fish were biting all day.  We didn’t catch any monsters, but we did get a flounder, a few reds, and a few bass.  We also hooked a big shark, but he broke the line!  The only issue that came up was a little engine trouble, which Captain Cody said he thought he got some bad gas.  The good news was that Captain Cody kept us moving, and we had a great time.  The description of this trip says you can bring four people.  We brought two plus the captain, and to me, that was comfortable.  I don’t think more than that would be much fun, as even with just the three of us, we kept finding ways to get on top of each other.  All in all, it was a great trip.  :)

Had a great time fishing the Texas Coast with Captain Cody Phillips. He took us to calm places with plenty of biting fish. Very helpful with fishing catching strategy. Worked hard to make all aspects of our trip enjoyable. Would highly recommend him to all interest parties. Will definitely book him again.

Captain Cody was very patient with us even though we weren’t fluent in English. He taught us how to fish in a very polite and humorous way so that we could fully enjoy fishing.

In order to make it easier for us to understand, he did his own research during the trip and gave us instructions even in Japanese. MAKE! MAKE! POPPU! lol

He also fileted the fish for us and we could eat deliciously cooked fish at the restaurant he introduced to us.

We will definitely be back and recommend to anyone else looking for a fishing trip with a nice guide!

Had a great day of fishing w Captain Cody. We caught a little bit of everything: big redfish, big trout, a big alligator gar. Even a flounder. Despite it being pretty windy, we were comfortable on the boat. And fishing relatively near to the dock made for a quick run out and back in the bayou. Would definitely recommend for any kind of group, especially if you have young kids. My 8-yr old had a blast.
