Trip Summary

Flounder season continues to improve with the warmer weather, although the average size is starting to trend downwards as the harvest takes it's toll. Best fish to date was a 25 inch 4lb. 13oz. dinosaur that was released after taking 5th place in the Capt. Steve's Tackle Shop Chincoteague Flounder Tournament. Looking forward, we had our first shark release yesterday while flounder fishing. The timing is right to declare shark season open June 1st. Our emphasis is on Tag and Release shark fishing, as we seek ways to preserve a diminishing segment of the ecosystem. By self- regulating we can avoid drastic state and federal measures such as moratoriums. Book your "Shark Hunters" trip now for June 1- Sept. 15. Aloha...
