Trip Summary

Kelly and I loaded up Lola, our dog (she goes crazy when we mention be"boat ride") and fun fished yesterday. What a day! We had a double on 500 yds out of the channel and sorted through 50+ walleyes for a nice limit of 2 to 4 lb eaters. We had a couple drum the size of garbage can lids to make things exciting but otherwise all hungry 'eyes! The fishing is as good as it gets right now and it should hold up for at least a month or more! Fun day!

The 2018 open water season is underway and the fishing is good! I had a couple trips last week in the famed western basin of Lake Erie and results were exactly why avid walleye fishermen come here. It looks like we are gettting an early start on the **hidden content** hard water season! High temps below freezing for the next 10 days should start making ice on Lake Erie! I am now booking for this winter's ice fishing and with the numbers of fish in the system right now this will be a banner year! I am not a taxi service. I had 3 great guys fly into Port Clinton airport to perch fish for the day. We got a bit later start than what I normally do but these guys got it done!!! We boxed 120 perch that weighed over 40 lbs just off Chimney Point Middle Bass Island. Folks it just doesn't get any better. These tasty fish should bite like this until it gets cold and nasty!
