The many bays and inlets of Louisiana form a maze that takes a master fisherman to navigate. Luckily, Captain Drew O’Quinn with Get Hooked Charters is one! He won’t just guide you through the forest, he’ll also help you get the best bite possible.
It takes a special boat to smoothly go through the waters around Hackberry and Capt. Drew has just the perfect fit. Join him onboard his 25’ Haynie bay boat. Her shallow draft is perfect for squeezing past mangroves and sunken trees. You can bring 3 of your fishing buddies with you too, she can handle 4 anglers fishing with ease.
Stalking the mangroves is Capt. Drew’s specialty. With the help of the onboard trolling motor, you can sneak up on even the spookiest fish. Fishing with live bait is made easier by the live bait well, it’ll keep your bait active and appetizing for a long time. No floppy bait here! Once you’re on top of the fish Capt. Drew will instruct and assist you as required, whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned sea wolf, he’s got your back.
You’ll go after the big trio of inshore fishing in Louisiana: Red Drum, Flounder, and Spotted Seatrout. Whatever you catch the captain will clean and fillet it on your way back to the dock, don’t forget to bring a cooler with you.
The captain offers pickup from nearby waterside locations, contact him in advance to work out the details.
You can also fly fish if you wish but having prior experience is required – casting the perfect fly in the middle of mangroves and bushes isn’t an easy task.
