FlyLight Charters specializes in light tackle and fly fishing trips out of Connecticut. Experience the finest angling opportunities in Long Island Sound, Block Island Sound, and Montauk. With a combination of over 5 decades of experience, you can rest assured your trip with Captain Peter Corrao will be a success.

You will go out aboard the “Doris-Ceil,” a 23’ Jones Brothers Light Tackle Edition center console which comes powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine. It is a great vessel for trips close to the shore and for longer rides. The boat is fitted with the latest in navigational electronics, cooler, and many other professional accessories. The deck is flat from bow to stern with pop up cleats and light so you won’t have any snagging fly lines when fighting with the fish.

Capt. Peter begins his season in May and takes his guests out until the last week of October. Conveniently located in the general area if the mouth of the Thames River in New London, the captain has access to the best fishing spots within half an hour of the marina.

He uses only what he believes is the absolute best available. To catch fish with a fly, you will be provided with G Loomis fly rods in weights from 9 to 13, Able fly reels, and Orvis full sink lines. Your light tackle spinning and baitcasting gear will include rods by G Loomis or No. 8 Tackle Company and Shimano reels.

Whichever trip you choose, it can be customized to meet your specific needs. Target Striped Bass, Bluefish, Blackfish, Black Seabass, False Albacore, Scup, Fluke, and Bonito. If you have a preference for what you want to target, let your captain know and he will help you land the fish of a lifetime.

The crew calls their sport ‘fishing’ and not ‘catching’ and practices ‘catch and release’. But you are welcome to take your catch home and taste it for dinner if you wish.

Explore the prolific waters of Connecticut with FlyLight Charters and have a fishing adventure you won’t forget!
