Top Notch Charters offers inshore and nearshore trips, catching a variety of species off the coast of Virginia Beach. If you want to spend a memorable time on the water with your family and friends, or just want to dive into pro fishing, the crew has something for you.

Your host for the day is Captain Russ. He’s been fishing for over 3 decades, and will accommodate you and your fellow anglers aboard his 53’ offshore sportfishing boat of custom make. It can take up to 6 anglers, and comes equipped with outriggers, latest electronics, GPS, a fishfinder, flybridge, ice box, and live bait well. She also offers a bed, toilet, microwave, and a fridge.

You will go fishing for Cobia, Redfish, Bluefish, or Sharks. Depending on the season, you might see other big fish swim nearby. You will go trolling, or anchor your boat near one of the hot spots and try to lure the fish, spinning and drift fishing.

You will get rods, reels, and tackle once you step onboard. The fishing license is included in the trips rates. The first mate will work to make your trip enjoyable. A gratuity of 15–20% is gladly accepted.

As you set out, you will first go and catch some live bait, usually small Bluefish. You will then go after the main prize. The trips are great for novice fishermen who want to see how angling works, or families with kids looking for a nice activity outdoors.

Bring snacks, and drinks, pack your sunscreen, shades, a cap. Take your camera, and come along for a day of fun with Top Notch Charters!

    This half day trip is a great way to spend time with family and friends. You will head out in the morning and have time to see how angling is done. Inshore, you can catch Spanish Mackerel, and small Bluefish. But don't be surprised if bigger fish come near. Nearshore, prepare to catch Sharks, Cobia, and King Mackerels. You can troll or anchor anywhere between a mile or eight to catch live bait, and then lure other fish. Tackle, bait, ice, and licenses are included in the trip rates.

    On this afternoon trip, you will head out, and target a variety of species. Inshore, it's Spanish Mackerel, and small Bluefish. A bit further off, go for Sharks, Cobia, and King Mackerels. Customers can cancel or modify their booking up to 14 days before the trip date free of charge. If the trip is canceled or modified later, or in the event of a no-show, 100% of the deposit will be charged.
