Capt. Hook’s Sportfishing – "Snapper"
When it comes to ample angling opportunities, Havelock Island, part of India’s Andaman Islands, might not be the first place you think of. So why should you travel to this little-known location? Well, the fish are huge, the waters plentiful, and the scenery stunning – and with experienced, knowledgable Captain Qutub Taher at the helm, Capt. Hook’s Sportfishing offers the perfect introduction to what lies beneath these waters!
Capt. Qutub moved to this island while working for a Grouper fish export company – however, he found fishing itself much more exciting, so decided to trade in his day job to become captain of his own charter company! He specializes in running trips that target huge saltwater species, and are suitable for anglers of all skill levels. As well as plenty of angling action, Capt. Qutub offers guests the chance to explore these crystal-clear waters from below – snorkeling gear is provided on each trip!
You’ll be traveling on board the “Snapper,” a 29’ custom-built center console. She can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests, making her the perfect choice for a family vacation, or groups of anglers who want to settle some scores. She’s decked out with GPS and fishfinder to get you to the hottest spots, as well as life jackets in a variety of sizes. You’ll also be treated to a local-style Indian lunch on board your vessel, as well as snacks and drinks.
Capt. Qutub specializes in taking his guests out to explore the inshore and nearshore waters of Havelock Island – they’re home to a huge host of world-famous fish, so you’ll really be spoilt for choice! Get ready to troll and pop for Giant Trevally, Bluefin Trevally, Wahoo, Barracuda, and more, as well as bottom fishing for a variety of Grouper. Never fished before? Don’t worry!
