At Adventures On The Water, we are professionals at what we do. We specialize in light tackle inshore and nearshore fishing out of Virginia Beach and surrounding waters. Combining over 4 decades of local experience, we have mastered the waters and know the hottest spots and the best bite.

Hop aboard a Robalo 226 Cayman bay boat! She’s powered by a Yamaha 250 HP outboard with a jack plate, Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor, and Power Pole shallow water anchor system to get you to all the places the fish hide and keep you there! The boat can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people total.

The boat is fully outfitted with the latest and greatest tackle, navigational, safety, and fish-finding electronics, and other professional accessories as well as a toilet for the kids and ladies.

The species you’ll target change based on availability. The crew will gladly talk to you and tell you what’s going on in advance. It’s called fishing but the crew likes catching more than you do! They keep it real and honest.

You will be able to enjoy fishing for Red Drum, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Tautog, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Flounder, and more in the inshore waters.

All trips come with smiles, memories, and quality gear and tackle. You will also be provided with bait when available, lures, and a fishing license. Just bring your own food, drinks, and the desire to catch fish!

The Captain-Mate on board does his best to keep you hooked up. Please note that although not a requirement, he gladly accepts tips, 18-20% of the trip price is the industry standard.

    We will head out before the sun goes down and fish into the night. Typically this fishing is targeting under slot to slot sized red drum. These fish usually are up to 30" fish and put on one heck of a show! We fish live/dead bait on bottom rigs. This is not a trip for small children.

We specifically target to most abundant fish available at that time. You also may specifically request a species and we will spend the day concentrated on that target species requested.

    This is a targeted species trip. We will be fishing structure on or near the bottom. I personally don't recommend this trip for inexperienced younger children or anglers as Tautog and Sheepshead fight hard.

    Please keep in mind this is a rather specialized trip, highly dependent upon weather. You will drift eels for giant trophy Striped Bass. The average fish is over 30 lbs! This is a trip where you may catch the fish of a lifetime or you may catch nothing at all! We work hard for this fish and this is not your typical family trip. REGULATIONS FOR KEEPING STRIPED BASS ARE CURRENTLY AS FOLLOWS: 1 PER PERSON MUST BE 20"-36"

I grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean from a young age. I don't have a favorite fish to target, honestly. It depends upon the season and what fishery is hot at the time. Catching fish makes my customers happy and that's what makes me happy. When we're not on the water we're working on keeping everything in Tip-Top shape for our customers.
