Black Pearl Charters offers various fishing packages on the waters off Wellington, NZ. Whether you’re looking to boost your morning, take your friends out for fine angling, or just love hardcore game fishing, Black Pearl is what you’re after.
Here, you will find rich waters both inshore and further out. If you choose a shorter trip, you can stay closer to the shore and target the likes of Yellowtail Kingfish, Snapper, Tarakihi, or Cod. Big game lies further out, and for the best results, choose a multiday trip.
Black Pearl is operated by Skipper Mat. Wellington-born, your skipper has been fishing these waters for over two decades. Having previously worked on charters elsewhere, Mat decided to start his own charter business. Tailored to customers, trips with Skipper Mat are relaxing and enjoyable.
As for your vessel, Black Pearl is rigged for game fishing and reef fishing alike. She is a custom built 8 meter (26’) Kiwi aluminum fishing boat. She is made to carry small groups, and for maximum comfort, we advise groups of four or five anglers.
Black Pearl is powered by two 150 HP Yamaha engines and can cruise at the speeds of up to 25 knots. She is equipped with the navigational electronics, stores top drawer Shimano gear, life jackets, has a toilet, beds, a live bait well, outriggers, and downriggers.
When you head out, Mat will provide the fishing gear. There will light snacks and some refreshments onboard, but you should bring your own lunch, especially if you plan on fishing the entire day.
You will also want to pack suitable clothes, and an extra layer of it, in case it gets wet, or you’re traveling with kids. Bring along sunglasses, a cap, sunblock, a camera. Wear comfortable footwear that will let you move easily so you can readily join the action.
Once you get ready, step onboard Black Pearl, and enjoy the waters!
