Long Run Fishing Charters

River Road
Point Pleasant NJ, United States

Long Run Fishing Charters offers high-end fishing experiences targeting trophy Striped Bass, huge Flounder, and many other inshore species. They also head offshore in search of monster Mako, Thresher, and Blue Sharks, and even venture way out into the high seas in search of Yellow and Bluefin Tuna.

Captains Dave and John are some of the best in the business. They are both fully USCG-licensed and have been running charters in the area for decades. They have a strong focus on passing on all they have learned to the next generation of anglers, and love to welcome guests of any age or experience level aboard.

Nowhere is Long Run Fishing Charters’ quality approach more obvious than with their boat. This 30’ Triton center console has been lovingly built into one serious sportfishing machine, with a cruising speed of over 40 knots despite the amount of equipment packed onboard. She meets all safety requirements, with everything from a life raft to EPIRB stowed away safely in case of emergencies.

The vessel has cutting edge Simrad GPS, and Airmar fishfinder complete with CHIRP and side scanning to get you pinpointed on the perfect spots every time. She has a full battery of outriggers, downriggers, and center riggers to let you target every species and habitat possible, and a choice of lifelike lures or live bait fresh from the tank to make sure nothing can resist your hooks.

Once you do sink your hook, you can rely on tournament-grade Penn and custom tackle, with perfectly-matched rod combos for every weight range. The sheer variety of techniques you can use speaks to the level of service these guys provide. Depending on your target species, you could be trolling, jigging, spinning, popping, kite fishing, bottom fishing, or even fly fishing.

So whether you are fishing the Manasuan River for Stripers and Bluefish, or heading 50+ miles out in search of the biggest Bluefin the ocean has to offer, you can rely on Long Run to make your fishing dreams come true.

Tuna is one of our favorite fish to target as we can catch them numerous ways. Seeing an Allison (100+ Pound) Yellowfin tuna come over the rail is one of our prouder moments. But don't let a 30-70 pounder fool you as they will keep you on the reel for an awesome fight. It is well worth it when you sit down to a tuna steak or some toro sushi later that night. Offshore Tuna Trips are limited to 4 passengers max.

Me and my two children had a blast, we wanted to catch Bluefish and boy did we.  Captain John & Captain Dave had us catching non-stop!  I was so impressed with how they took the time explaining their many techniques for finding bait, locating and catching fish, etc. Not only was it a awesome learning experience, it was fun too!  I would highly recommend Long Run Fishing Charters!!!

I had SUCH a great time with captain John & Dave! We caught a bunch of blues, which was awesome because it was my first time catching them. Not only did I feel awesome reeling them in, but they also helped me improve my cast, which I think was the best thing I was able to take away from the trip. I will definitely be going out with them again!
