Blue Ocean Charters - Te Kuia
Blue Ocean Charters invites you to step onboard one of the biggest charter vessels in New Zealand - Te Kuia. Here you will find solid fishing action throughout the year, a reliable crew and plenty of fish - from Kingfish, John Dory, Gurnard to Tarakihi, Snapper, and Hapuka. Whether you want a full day trip around inshore reefs or an overnight trip to the iconic Mayor Island, you’ll find it here.
You will be fishing from a 50’ Lilley classic boat with tradition and stamina to take on these fish. Boasting a capacity of 20 people, the boat has ample of place for fishing, extensive seating area, a spacious back cabin, a galley, a toilet, and a fine selection of fishing gear which you can rent. The boat is powered by a 200 HP Detroit engine and is fitted with navigational electronics. And, for anglers who want to explore reefs during the night - there are comfortable bunks onboard that can take up to 10 people.
The team behind the Blue Ocean charters is made up of local fishermen who have been in the business for decades. They know the waters well and will make sure you have a blast onboard.
You are encouraged to bring your own fishing gear, including rods, reels, and tackle, and all other gadgets you might need. However, you can also rent rods and tackle from the crew for an additional fee per person. There will be tea and coffee served, but you should bring your own food and drinks. Please note that alcohol is ok in moderate amounts, while smoking is allowed outside the cabin.
When packing for the trip, remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a camera. Put on adequate clothes, bring plastic bags for your fish, old towels, and toiletries. Book your spot on time and come enjoy the finest of NZ fishing!
