Aruba Sea Pleasure has been in the charter business for quite some time. Having run charter trips for their friends and numerous tourists who come to Aruba, Captain Jordano and his sister Julisa eventually took over a big luxury yacht - Mitsha. They now offer fishing trips around the rich waters of Aruba. Capt. Jordano studied to become a Maritime Officer in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He did his internship successfully on board of the Lorelay, a pipelay vessel belonging to the company Allseas. Jordano returned to his native island of Aruba in 2015 and is since then the captain of Mitsha. With Aruba Sea Pleasure you will be in safe hands. They have experienced crew to put you on some of the nices fish here and make your trip unforgettable.

My son and I took a morning half day trip on the Mitsha.  The boat was average for what one should expect.  We just sold our own 45’ luxury cruiser so i know a bit about boats and do not expect high end from a charter fishing boat and neither should you.  This boat is fine in that regard.

The first mate was pleasant and helpful.  The captain spent his time up on the flybridge.

You do start fishing from nearly the moment you leave the dock.  However, this just consists of one line with lures - but that is more than you normally do, and, who knows what might hit it.

The problem I had was that the Captain did not put us on the fish.  We did not even have a hit (we did lose our bait once to something).  We trolled the length of Aruba back and forth the entire time.  While we did vary how close in we were, we stuck to the same route.  A number of other boats tried our area and then left.  We stayed.  I was given no explanation of why we were not trying an entirely different area.

On other charters I have taken, when one area is not producing any hits, the captain tries other areas that either he knows or where he is being told (via radio) that fish are present.  I am not sure why that did not happen.

The captain did make a few trips down to the engine room and it may be that he had some issues that were not explained to me. Upon return to the dock, the captain apologized for the bad luck and said that it happens with fishing (which I know).  A passerby that had just returned from his own charter asked how we did and was disgusted to hear we did not even get a hit. He told us about what they got and just shook his head.

I understand not having any luck.  That is fishing.  I do not understand spending the entire charter fishing the same empty spot.  Of course, I take some of the blame for not asking that we move spots, but I shouldn’t have to.

Dear Mr. Redman,

We’re sorry to hear you didn’t have a good time with us. We do our utmost to ensure our guests are safe and have a great time with us.

As stated in our email communication prior to your fishing trip, when we have children on board we take additional precaution to ensure their safety. That includes monitoring the weather. In case the winds are strong we do not take the open seas. This to avoid rough seas, mainly to ensure the children’s safety. That was the case during your trip and we stayed close to the shore and fished by the reefs where we, usually, do catch beautiful barracudas and tunas.

As for not catching any fish, we share your disappointment as this is the first fishing trip since we started our chartering business that we did not catch any fish. We are sorry this happened on this special trip with your son.

We are sorry the fishing trip did not meet your expectations.

We took a relaxing afternoon trip with Mitsha. Since we were with the children we opted out of fishing and decided to take a snorkeling and sightseeing trip.

Captain Jordano and crew was very friendly and knew exactly where to go to make sure we not only had a marvellous view of the island but the entire family had a wonderful and beautiful swim and snorkeling experience.

Water and soft drinks and tuna salad sandwich were complimentary on the trip. The boat was in good condition, music was great, the crew wa friendly and knowledgeable. We are happy with the experience on board of Mitsha. We already booked a fishing trip for November. Looking forward to be back on board of this nice boat an meet Jordano and his crew.
